Treyarch has released a new PC patch for Call of Duty: World of War, polishing up multiplayer and bringing Map Pack 1 for free, courtesy of Intel. Get it at FileShack.

The map pack arrived on consoles last month costing $10--a price over one million players happily paid during the first week of sale alone. Alongside three regular multiplayer maps is a new Nazi Zombies map which fleshes out the popular mode.

The full patch notes follow below:

• 3 new Multiplayer maps: Knee Deep, Nightfire, Station!
• Nazi Zombies map with more weapons, Perks-a-Cola machines, and electroshock defenses: Verruckt!
• Improved spawning logic.
• Auto balancing improvements. Players are no longer auto balanced while completing objectives.
• Mods: IWD's can be placed in the usermaps folder.
• Mods: Hold Breath / Sprint functions as intended.
• Mods: MissingAssets.csv is generated when maps are run with developer set to 1.
• Fixed lag caused by shooting at tanks.
• All rifle grenades fired during the first 15 seconds of Search & Destroy will be duds.
• Players who equip a Bouncing Betty and melee teammates in Hardcore game modes are now credited with a team kill penalty.
• Players are now deducted 200 points for team killing the bomb planter/defuser in Hardcore Search & Destroy.
• Martyrdom no longer causes direct impact deaths in Hardcore modes.
• "Bayonet jumping" has been disabled.

We have a new Ventrilo server that is up and running. Salvaje has acquired a new service provider and has also saved us a few extra bucks a month,  thanks for taking care of this Sal. Please update your oWs Ventrilo server info to the new IP and port. The passwords are the same as before for public access and admin rights.

UPDATE:

It's not you, the provider of the service is upgrading their systems and what was supposed to be an 18-24 hour possible down time has become longer then anticipated. As soon as Pure Voice Communications new system is up Ventrilo will be back.  Sorry all! :(

As most of you have noticed our Ventrilo server is down. This is only a temporary service interruption and is due to our Ventrilo hosting provider (Pure Voice Coummunications, Inc.) upgrading their servers and switching our account over to the new system. Our Ventrilo service should be back online shortly.

After a last minute show-stopping bug was found by the QA department, the developers at Treyarch had to go back to fix the bug and send it back over for retesting.  Today, the 1.3 patch for Call of Duty: World at War is released.  Unlike the 1.2 patch which encompasses some major issues that had to be addressed and the inclusion of a "new" map, 1.3 brings supplemental fixes that could not make it into the 1.2 patch timeframe.  Below is a list of things the 1.3 patch brings:

• /record and /demo enabled in MP.
• Server Log File improvements, including:
  • Team Names on Kill loglines.
  • Round Win and Loss.
  • Timestamps.
  • Additional action logging (took flag, destroyed headquarters, planted bomb, etc).
• Improved sound initialization for Vista - fixes loss of sound for audio devices set higher than 16 bit 48000 Hz.
• Screenshots no longer overwrite each other.
• Tweaked autobalance on select game modes.

To all of our visiting players, we will upgrade our server to 1.3 as soon as possible.  So make sure you have the patch downloaded and ready should you need to patch up before joining our server.
